- Terminology
In this policy:
- “we”, “us”, “our” and “OBP” are a reference to OBP Australia;
- “you” or “your” means a person whose personal information we have knowingly collected;
- “Websites” means the websites located at the URL, obpaustralia.com.au
- the term “sensitive information” means (without limitation) information about an individual’s race, political opinions, religious beliefs, philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union, sexual preference, criminal record, or health, genetic or biometric information, including “sensitive information” as defined in the Privacy Act 1988.
- Personal Information
OBP Australia is dedicated to keeping your personal information private. It is OBP Australia’s policy that your personal information will remain confidential, accessible only by OBP Australia representatives providing your services and associated communications. OBP Australia will not rent, trade or sell your personal information to third parties.
In some cases your information may be supplied to a third party, such as our webinar service provider to enable you to access scheduled sessions.
OBP Australia may use your personal information to introduce you to other contacts in your industry, employers or recruiters. Networking is an integral component of the course and may involve distribution of your resume to recruiters and potential employers.
OBP Australia may retain certain personal information supplied by you, including information which you supply to an agency through OBP Australia, for example the billing system. OBP Australia reserves the right to contact current and past OBP Australia users for the purposes of marketing, unless the user opts out of receiving such information. Retained information includes contact details, resume, any speech assessments and general case notes. It is not our intention to share this information without your permission and we will not do so. The only exception is where your employer has engaged us on your behalf and requested progress updates.

In addition to our privacy policy generally, there are specific issues relating to your privacy associated with the Websites. If you access the Websites from outside Australia, you accept responsibility for ensuring or confirming compliance with all laws in that jurisdiction that apply to you as a result of that access or any consequent transactions or dealings with us, the operating system used, the Websites or other users.
After completing any form on our website or making a purchase transaction, your IP address will be stored, in the case of a purchase your IP address will be stored along with a transaction number that allows us to track your order.
Please note that this Privacy Policy does not extend to third party sites linked to this web site.
- Online Forums
OBP Australia provides opportunities for written discussion / comment through forums/webinar posted comments/blogs and email. Material deemed to be inappropriate or offensive will be removed from these forums. OBP Australia reserves the right to determine what comment is inappropriate or offensive.
With respect to any blogs or forums available herein, statements and opinions expressed in the articles and communications are those of individual contributors and not the statements and opinions of OBP Australia.
OBP Australia does not seek to collect sensitive personal data (such as data revealing religious beliefs, political opinions, health or other matters) through this site. If OBP Australia does seek to collect such data, your prior consent will be sought. Please note that, by providing OBP Australia with unsolicited sensitive personal data you consent to our using those data as described above.
- Professional Confidentiality
OBP Australia does not take responsibility for information released by you during webinars, blogs or via written submissions. We ask you to be mindful of confidentiality issues and sensitivity of workplace documents and information when participating in workshops, webinars or blogs.
- Direct Marketing
When you provide your personal details to us, you consent to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes (for an indefinite period).
From time to time, we may contact you with information about products and services offered by us and our related entities and our business partners, which we think may be of interest to you. When we contact you it may be by mail, telephone, email or SMS.
Where we use or disclose your personal information for the purpose of direct marketing, we will:
- allow you to ‘opt out’ or in other words, allow you to request not to receive direct marketing communications; and
- comply with a request by you to ‘opt-out’ of receiving further communications within a reasonable timeframe.
We will only ever contact you if you have consented to direct marketing, and you can ask to be removed from our marketing lists at anytime by directly contacting us.
